The item doesn,t look like it got damaged through shipping. it is as if you were unable to figure out how to open the box, which then caused the item to break and damage the item. If the item was damaged through shipping, the item would have been damaged at the top of the box or the sides of the box, not by the side where you open the lid. A full refund was issued when we received the item back . Kind Regards
