Looks like a good quality used disc in great condition. Fair price. Surprised how fast it arrived since it came all the way from Canada. My only complaint that REALLY angers me is how while the seller only listed a return address as a PO Box, it was addressed to me along with my personal phone number listed under my mailing address. WHY???? NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT!! Other than that, the seller is very attentive and responds rapidly answering any questions or concerns. Deserves to maintain rating.

Great action. A mostly true story.
This is a very good movie. The characters are engaging and the action is good. The movie also is based on a true story; dramatized, of course. The Col. Patterson is based on the real man, while the "Remington" character is a combination of British and American big game hunters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Col. Patterson really killed the man eating lions himself with little or no help from anyone. I think "Remington"; played by Michael Douglas, is just to add to the drama, plus Douglas was the producer. Good Movie Poorly Casted
Great historical drama, but the casting was all off. This is a part of British-African Colonial History. Why were two American actors starring in it or if they really were professional actors, why couldn't they have taken on British accents? Even good actors like Douglas and Kilmer can never fit in to a period movie without adapting to the culture. Also, the casting director erred in not switching the two to match their actual personalities, i.e., Kilmer should have been the crazy lion tamer. Some of the other minor characters (the wife) had the wrong accents also and not up to cinematic standards (just TV soap opera types). Great movie
I remembered seeing this movie and it was just one of those that I had to see you again. Seeing again was almost like for the first time. It is one of my many favorite movies still. I've always enjoyed Michael Douglas movies and I think Val Kilmer does a great job in this movie also.

great non-fiction movie
Most books and movies that are my favorites are based on non-fiction. Have watched it at least 4 times.....just as good each time. Would love to go to museum in Chicago and see the two lions .

Actually, one of these man eating lions is on display in the Chicago museum and was captured after devouring a 12 year old African boy. Of course, the contents of the lions stomach was completely cleaned out and the animal was prepared and stuffed for exhibit . It’s really an exciting movie, very different from your normal adventure. Very scary and nail in biting in some scenes. It will have you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend watching this flick.
