Cool looking, but issues.
Ok, short and sweet. Great looking....problem I have "only me" is it eliminates a seal at the motor shaft. Also it's not perfect I found I have to jam a screw driver to the mounitng screwed to align the standard motor pinion and main gear...mesh to is to tight if you simply drop in and tighten....I was able to get it a little lose using screw driver pushing hard against screw as I tightened it down.....again....that's just my expireance! Some other include a motor shaft shourd to protect dirt from entering motor pinion and main gear chamber.....Ok, short and sweet. I found these motor mounts to be rock solid and well built, eliminating any flex inherent with the stock, plastic mounts (not that there was much). On the negative, I’ve had to shim underneath these to raise the motor because I found the gear mesh too tight even though I used the same pinion and spur gears. Also, the Traxxas mount has a plate that slots over the chassis to form a seal between the motor and gear side of the bulkhead. These, not any other aftermarket, mounts don’t have that feature. All told, I’m happy with these but, I subtracted a star for the reasons noted above. Nice part
Wonderful part for a stock motor in a X-Maxx , now pair it with a Max6 and a Hot Racing 50 tooth spur gear and a ProTek 20 tooth pinion gear and use stock plastics and stock tires with fishing line weaving through the lugs 2 lines per tire . WOW 😮 truck is light and runs great !!!! See pictures for the way to use 50 lbs fishing line on tires , I went around the tire twice on each line . The tires stay flat at high speeds. No more ballooning. Great Mount for Stock Motor 8S
Much better than stock, and a must have if you are running a stock power system (8S 1200XL) and have had trouble with chewed pinions despite a correctly set mesh. This keeps the motor secure and prevents it from wobbling in the cradle mount. The only bad thing about this mount would be the aluminum threading isn't really meant to have the motor pulled out a lot as the threads start to deform, making it more difficult to get the mounting screws back in. The locking nuts embedded in the nut really help secure the motor and can be replaced if need be with any locking M4 nut. Much better than stock, and a must have if you are running a stock power system (8S 1200XL) and have had trouble with chewed pinions despite a correctly set mesh. This keeps the motor secure and prevents it from wobbling in the cradle mount.
