  • Reloader

Just needed a lightweight press to crimp a large amount of ammo I purchased that wasn't crimped. Press is lightweight, if I were going to be doing some serious rifle caliber reloading I would purchase a heavier duty press. This one seems to be fine for small quantities or one operation only, like a dedicated crimp press. Good value, made well.

  • Very simple and very good!

If you are into plain and simple re-loading this press is awesome and won't break the bank either...simple and very easy to use. The long handle makes easy work of sizing, de-priming used cases and seating new bullets. because of the "C" shape design loading and unloading the case onto and off the holder is easy. I really like the sleeve collet that allows me to quickly add and remove my dies with just a twist of the wrist. My only complaint is the used primer storage compartment built into the frame of the press. there is no door to open to empty the used primer storage and you must unbolt the entire press from its bench to empty it when it gets full. An oversite by Lee on this one, but definitely not a deal breaker. There are after market kits that assist with this or you can do what I did and buy and mini shopvac tube that is used to clean keyboards and use that to stick into the opening in the frame and suck out the used primers with a shopvac. Overall this is a great little space saving press that gets the job done!

  • Poor quality compared to my previous Lee Precision Loading Press

This press is cheap and flimsy compared to my previous loader which I purchased from Lee several years ago. Lee quality obviously has declined over the years, I was stunned by the differences. The first one I purchased almost 15 years ago is strong and still works perfectly and it sits alongside the new one -- which is cheap by comparison. If I had seen it in person before purchasing it, I would never have bought it. One example of the differences, my older press has a place to catch primers during resizing and de-priming, the new one does not. No, I am not returning it; it is not worth the time and effort. I will eventually find something to with it; maybe hang my work apron on it! :Lee should be ashamed of this product! Dr. Jim Eller, Castle Rock, Colorado.

  • Lee screwed up a good thing.

I own a couple of these presses bought years ago and do love them for light reloading tasks. The design has always had its faults, such as no finger clearance towards the back of the ram, and the handle being somewhat in the way when the ram is lowered. And of course the limited strength and power. But I always loved this press's Zen-like minimalist simplicity. No floppy useless primer arm, no afterthought clip-on spent primer catcher, just a very clean & simple design with no gimmicks and very little to go wrong. Unfortunately, Lee in their infinite wisdom have now decided to violate (as in rape) the very spirit that made this a great product, by adding their "Breech Lock" feature/gimmick to it. Furthermore, it appears Lee is doing this without changing the model number of the press... I interpret that as a total "bye-bye" to the old non-BL version. I guess Lee hopes we will rush out like so many lemmings to spend our money on additional Breech Lock bushings to go on all our dies. I personally was not having any trouble screwing my dies in and out of the simple threaded holes on my older Lee presses; if I wanted speed I'd buy a turret press or a progressive reloading machine. I gather that other Breech Lock presses made by Lee have a pop-up button that indexes the BL bushing in the proper locked orientation. They left that detail out on this press, so probably they will have people do sizing operations with the BL interrupted threads only 5% engaged and thus permanently damage their soft alloy press frames. Well I only bought a new one of these to hold in reserve as I drill permanent holes for my older ones in a nice new reloading bench. I don't want to get caught with holes in my bench and no press to fit them somewhere down the line. That being my situation, I guess I'll JB Weld the one bushing they supplied permanently into the press frame and try to forget the bad vibes this whole Breech Lock business sets off for me. If you feel the same way I do, be aware that the newer version is starting to ship out to customers now but many sellers have not updated their photos or descriptions to reflect the change.

  • Good Little Press

I only use this press for the Bulge Buster, but it would be good for priming also. In a pinch you could load with this press, but I don't expect it to be very good for it.

  • Good press for misc. tasks. Takes up little space.

I bought this one for pulling bullets, resizing cast bullets, and other various odds n ends. I'm not sure I would use it for actual reloading (I'm currently using the Hornady Lock-N-Load AP for this), but for other things as mentioned, it works just fine and I don't have to "rig" my progressive press for these jobs, and you can't beat the price!

  • Simplicity at it's best

Brand new Lee quality at a good price. Slow and simple reloader. Not for someone reloading thousands at a time.

  • Perfect for what I'm doing with it

This is a nice compact press. I have 5 other presses, but I needed one to set up outside of my regular shop area. I'm using it just to do brass prep. The only reason the press got 4 instead of 5 is the primercatch is in the press body, how are you supposed to empty it once its bolted to the work bench.

  • I use it to pull bullets for now until i reload .308 Win

This is a great press for doing one step at a time and taking your time for precision rounds for your hunting rifle or your long distance rifle. Its built sturdy but with the lee quick change die holder you have to have one for every die or youll be unscrewing the die and trying to get it out and setting another one whereas when you have one for every die for the caliber youll be reloading. Youll just set it to where it need to be and one simple twist its out of the press ready for the next die. I also have a pregressive press by lee its the loadmaster and it works wonderful for the price point.

  • A fine product for the price

I use this press for my small batches of certain calibers where quality is more important than quantity. At new prices and free shipping their is really no reason to buy this brand used. I have used an earlier model of this press for 20+ years and this new model is improved.
