This is as Good as I Expected it to Be--And Better Than Just "Okay!"
It is as good as I expected it to be--better than just "okay." Alastair Sim is still the best Scrooge, and the overall performance is outstanding, and has withstood the "test" of time. I think the colorized version is pretty well done if one has to watch it that way. I prefer the original black and white, with the wide screen option. I can see more details that way, but--just be forewarned that close-ups of the people will not show the tops of their heads, although you can see their faces just fine. When the people are further back, that is not a problem. I consider that just a minor thing to put up with, in order to see the details in the picture more completely. It has been beautifully restored, and the picture quality and the sounds are all clear, and not "muddied up." If you really ... It is as good as I expected it to be--better than just "okay." At least you do have options, so you can choose which you would prefer. I enjoy this, and plan to keep this around for a very long time.
