Product Information

By using Sigma DP3 Merrill Cameras, you can take crisp, digital pictures that are bold and vibrant. The 75 mm macro lens is designed with a sensor that can shoot photography at 46 MP. As a result, all images are processed with a lot of detail. Shadows won’t affect the image quality of landscape photos because these cameras have a high ISO. Instead of grainy images, all photos will be crystal-clear in any environment. Checking each image at the end of a photo shoot is easy. Each Sigma camera has a bright display that highlights key elements, such as sharpness and contrast. The Sigma DP3 Series Merrill Camera has a black base design, but the main logo in the upper corner is white. Underneath the logo, there are several speckles that provide grip. The lens takes up a large portion of the base, but the main glass component on the lens is very small. When this micro lens and sensor process data, everything can be reviewed on the back panel on the 3-inch display. All of the buttons that control the display are labeled. This unit has an AEL button, QS button, and Menu button along the top of the base. The Focus buttons are used for navigational purposes; they’re located in the middle of the panel. Under the directional components, there are two media buttons. Using all of these photography features is never a hassle because the most important buttons are placed on the top panel. In this area, you’ll find a Power button, Mode button, and a large dial.The highly unique technologies that are included with this digital camera make low-light photographs stand out. When a photo is snapped, the Foveon Image Sensor strategically captures all of the RGB color data that’s found in every pixel location. This technology doesn’t alternate one layer of pixels; instead, it produces better results by modifying three layers. The image sensors work with multiple processors when the images are enhanced. Since each processor functions quickly, images are modified faster. Thanks to the sophisticated processing algorithm, photographs have smooth, rich tones. Taking advantage of these features during a shoot is easy. By using the Quick Set button, you can adjust the shutter speed based on your preferences.If you like to take photographs in different environments, the Sigma DP3 Series Merrill Camera will benefit you. On a sunny day, you can continue to snap professional-quality shots without changing the lenses. Intense sunlight won’t ruin your review sessions because glare doesn’t affect the LCD panel. Mountain ranges, landmarks, and other large objects can be modified with ease at the end of shoots. Since the display can process 920,000 pixels, wide angle shots can be adjusted without any difficulty. Continuous shooting is possible while using this camera. It has plenty of buffer memory that can process several frames per second. This means that you can confidently shoot seven raw shots of athletes running from a distance.

Sigma DP3. Not for the faint hearted.
The best Sigma DP Merrill in my opinion is the DP2 Merrill. It is still not a fun camera to use, but the image quality has spoilt me. I say that with caveats. Light availability has to be good or you get poor image quality, as raising the ISO will not reward you. The DP3 is even less forgiving than the DP2 and I think that is because of the reduced depth of field you get with the 50mm lens (on Fovean APSC sensor; = 75mm). Critical focus is hard to ascertain using that fixed, dim LCD screen. You are at the mercy of the auto focus, which in good light, thankfully, does a good job. I have bought an optical view finder for the DP2 because I will not ditch that camera. I have to get used to the DP3. As I said, it is even more of a struggle to use. The actual controls are easy to use. The Sigmas ... The best Sigma DP Merrill in my opinion is the DP2 Merrill. It is still not a fun camera to use, but the image quality has spoilt me. If you appreciate the slow, methodical workflows of film photography, you should look at getting yourself a Sigma DP3 Merrill. You will be rewarded with amazing image quality (detail and colours) only possible at a faster pace with much larger (and much more expensive) cameras. It works best at 100 ISO, higher ISO usage can start to introduce noise to your images. However , if you treat the raw file as a film negative and Expose To The Right to saturate the sensor with light, higher ISO images without noise are possible. Keep in mind X3F raw files can only be processed by Sigma Photo Pro (SPP) and Iridient Developer. SPP isn’t as bad as it used to be (runs fine on my 2017 MacBook with 8GB RAM). Recommend trying out SPP with some same sample X3F files to see if you are comfortable ... Sharpest images from any camera I have ever owned.
This is the camera for someone who knows what they are doing. Definitely not a do everything camera. If you want a sharp photo and learn how to use this camera it has stunning results. Just get a couple spare batteries because this will drain them out after 80 shots. For snapshots I have a phone, for beautiful sharp images I have this!. The Raw images can be used in Photoshop with a plug in, I actually got Sigma to update it. I will be buying more Sigma cameras because I love the company. The software from Sigma is slow, but impressive in many ways.This is the camera for someone who knows what they are doing. Definitely not a do everything camera. Not for Point and shoot!
If you can use the manual mode in an SLR then this camera may be fun for you! Incredible image quality but you have to work for it. Set f stop and aperture and results are stunning! Foveon sensor is the best!
