All around great!
While this is a DVD produced in Korea, it is all region, and excellent work. The color is vibrant, the sound excellent, and overall quality is exceptional. The movie was originally released in 1963 and this disc is as good as you would see in theaters. Very pleased to have a great copy of a really good movie, and to see three outstanding actors - Heston, Niven, and Gardner - at their best.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Great picture. Saw it when I was in high school. One of the epics from the 1960's when Hollywood was king. Charlton Heston at the peak of his career, David Niven and Ava put in great performances. More War Stuff . . . .
Based on an actual period of history (1899-1901), the film is well done. How much of the historical validity is unknown to this commentator, but brief research leads one to accept the film is reasonably true. A great adventure story, based on the real Boxer Rebellion of 1900
Excellent film, glad to finally find a copy on DVD. The filmmakers take a few liberties with the history of the Boxer Rebellion, but this is based on true events and most of the major plot points actually happened. A must for fans of Charlton Heston. Excellent movie that does justice to the Boxer Siege of the foreign section of Peking. Charlton Heston is great as the American Soldier trying to defend the foreigners against overwhelming odds and the bickering of all foreign diplomats who only want their colonial interests preserved. Eva Gardner is gorgeous as woman seeking love and redemption among the chaos. Excellent Movie.
One of those old big sweeping movies they don't make anymore............Like Ben Hur or Cleopatra.................Deals with the Boxer Rebellion in China at the turn of the 20th century...... China is occupied by foreign countries and the Chinese want them out................Good way to while away a weekend afternoon..............Good acting all around plenty of action but it takes the western point of view as movies did back then made during the cold war.........................Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Wonderful Historical Plot
