Synopsis
This collection of more than 1,001 quotes from the world's best teachers is the perfect gift for those who have chosen the noblest of professions. Sage advice and inspiration abound in equal measure throughout--both from teachers in the strict sense of the word and from writers, scholars, and public figures who have had teachable moments of their own. The quotes are organized around the day-to-day concerns of the classroom teacher: how to stay in it for the long haul; how to invoke the love for learning; how to deal with the hard issues, such as behavior challenges and politics; how to stay current and creative; the proper role of the teacher; educational philosophies; and more. 1001 Smartest Things Teachers Ever Said is a wonderful source of inspiration for all teachers! "I'm not trying to create a spark--I'm trying to start an out-of-control forest fire of learning."--Eric Langhorst, Missouri Teacher of the Year "If you have a child's heart, you have his head."--Flip Flippen, of the Capturing Kids' Hearts program "A teacher has two jobs; fill young minds with knowledge, yes, but more important, give those minds a compass so that that knowledge doesn't go to waste."--Olympia Dukakis, as Helen Jacobs in Mr. Holland's Opus (1995) "Think well and do good."--John Delap, principal at Fayetteville High School, This collection of more than 1,001 quotes from the world's best teachers is the perfect gift for those who have chosen the noblest of professions. - d***d (47)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufThis book is fantastic! The quality is exactly as described, it’s in great condition, the appearance is clean and basically brand-new, and it came at an excellent price. This is a first-rate, five-star seller that deserves everyone's business. They packaged the book with extreme care, shipped it quickly, and communicated effectively throughout the process. This was an excellent buying experience and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from this seller again.
- 0***1 (1597)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufThis book arrived within the time period given and was in the 'very good' condition described. Unfortunately, only being packaged in a plastic bag to traverse the Atlantic meant that all four corners got a battering (I would be happy to pay bit more in future for a bit of cardboard support in packaging) but all in all, the price was good and overall service for books that are difficult to get over here, I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this seller. Will buy again from them.
