Better than off brand for sure
Can only recommend these original cartridges by brother. Would not buy off brand ever again. Brother cartridges are easy to open and install. They do the job as they are supposed to. We have tried off brand ink cartridges to save money for our Brother printer combo before but while the print quality was good for a while, after a year of using off brand cartridges the print quality declined and we were not able to to achieve it as it was before even when switching back to brother cartridges. We ended up buying a new printer combo. So, from experience I recommend to spend the extra money and buy original brother ink cartridges because it will make your printer last longer.

Not exactly as advertised
One of the cartridges was sealed, the other had been cut open but doesn't appear to have been used. Haven't used it yet and probably won't for a few months when I need it and if doesn't work will update this review. As long as they work, this will be a great value.

Dated package
The package was opened and taped up. Could be just a return or the ink is older than the package. The shelf life is critical and that's why they date them. Everything else was ok .Hope the second cartridge works like the first. I would have returned but family was anxious to get the printer up and didn't bother to look.

Less expensive
This product is the same as you get in a store. I can order online instead of taking the time to "Go and get it".

We use black ink fast enough that purchasing this 2-pack makes sense. The price is also very reasonable.

Opened 1st pkg today but clip did not pull away from cartridge. Took a pair of pliers and pulled it out, inserted into printer and all worked fine.
