Product was exactly as described - love it! Item was packaged extremely well and shipped via Fed-Ex. My only semi-complaint was the amount of time it took to get here. Ordered on 5/28 and arrived on 6/4; the shipment was from Illinois to Michigan - 2 states away. Seemed like a very long delivery time but glad I ordered it and received it. Had a couple of initial questions and the seller responded very quickly which was great! Would do business with this seller again!!!

Excellent camera, but there are some details worth knowing
This is a very high quality camera. HOWEVER, there are some details worth knowing about. It does not have a night mode (such as infrared lighting like some cameras) no doubt because it must always run on batteries. So, at night, you only have available light, but it still does fairly well. Battery life is a couple of months, maybe more, using lithium non-rechargeables (1.5 volt AA size). So, it is good to keep spare batteries in the vehicle. In a pinch, or if you prefer, you can certainly just use alkaline batteries, but the life will be more like a few weeks. Some, not all, of the compatible Garmin GPS units allow setting the camera's resolution and lower resolution helps battery life. So, you should check into that. I have a Garmin DriveSmart 61 which is a model that does NOT ... This is a very high quality camera. HOWEVER, there are some details worth knowing about. Finally, you can't really use it as an alternate "rear view mirror" as it automatically switches off the video once in forward motion as a safety feature. They don't want you looking at the video, I guess, except when using it when backing. But, after all "BC" does stand for "Backup Camera."

Easy to install, and easier to steal
Easy installation. Simple and straightforward pairing. Good quality video. Would be super easy to steal the camera, so I'd recommend hiding it in your car when you're done for the day. And definitely get the lithium batteries, unless you like changing them every couple of days.

Almost as good as built-into car
The camera was easy to install. It took me longer to remove the one I had in the car, then it took to install, check for function and adjust the settings on this new one. It has a large clear picture and it is easy to use. It is about as close to a factory install as I have seen. I have used 2 other after market back up cameras this is by far the best.

Viewing is sharp and clear in all light conditions.
The Garmin BC 40 has a wide, sharp view with adjustable guide lines for horizontal and vertical. The camera can also be tilted downwards for your preferred viewing. Even in low light the view is sharp and clear.

Great camera, installs in minutes
You have to adjust lines for backing up straight, but it really makes for safer driving. You will need the lithium batteries, alkaline only last a few days. Overall a great product, and the price was nice.
