  • The One Big Flaw

I was extremely excited to finally locate and purchase a rare 1971 Z28 Camaro produced by my all time favorite 1:64 scale manufacturer, HW, in such an appropriate color scheme with nice details and Real Riders wheels. I was even more elated to discover upon receit, that I was in possession of #1 of the 7000 produced in the now famous Cool Collectibles "oil-can" displays. Now for the disappointing down side of HW collectibles. The old rubber bands that were placed around segments of these vehicles to prevent possible damages due to flapping hoods or other opening/moving parts, has actually become a nightmare let-down for many collectors. These well intentioned securing rubber bands loose their elasticity over time, shrinking and sticking strongly to the body paint and even becoming so brittle that they fall apart into pieces that trash out the displays. The hugest disapointment materializes when the attached rubber bands remove/damage the paint that they are in contact with. In some cases the sticky residue left behind permanently sticks to the vehicle with know know solvent that'll remove or act to restore concerning this often reoccurring problem. As a result, a difficult decision and a delimma is arrived at by collectors who seek models in these nice display cases. In order to rescue the actual diecast model, one has to break the sealed case and hope that the rubber-band won't result in unwanted unsightly residue or damaging effects. Whereas the display cases are supposed to act to preserve, the better models to obtain are actually the loose vehicles that are free of the harmful effects of the well intentioned rubber-bands. Therefore the unfolding ever arising question and debate exist. Which vehicle models are actually worth more? Those in display cases with the dreaded rubber-bands, or those that have been made loose?! It's just down-right unfortunate that such decisions will have to be debated and weighed by HW collectors trying to decide what's most important. I suppose the fine craftsmanship is to blame as much as those who never intend to actually use these admirable toys to play with. The age old difference between Driver's and Collectors still yet exist, if at the pocket size level. A very unfortunate oversight indeed. Buyers/collectors beware, and happy hunting.

  • Highly detailed Hot Wheels 100% Collectibles '69 Plymouth GTX

This version of Hot Wheels are very detailed. Rubber tires and nicely chromed wheels that closely resemble Cragars. A real shiny black paint job with great detailing in the pin-striping and turn signals. Also good silver painting around the windows to resemble the chrome trim. Nicely detailed engine compartment with a really great paint job on the undercarriage as well. These 100% Collectibles are top of the line Hot Wheels.....not your average .99 version you get at the local store. They are definately more spendy but worth every penny!! If you are collecting....don't settle for less. If you are buying for children....go get your .99 version!

  • Hot Wheels 68 Mustang Hall of Fame

In 1968 Ford factory sponsored five 1968 Mustang Cobra Jets they driven by Gas Ronda , Hubert Platt , " Dyno " Don Nicholson , Jerry Harvey , and Al Joniec . Joniec defeated Hubert Platt to win his class , and Dave Wren to win the Super Stock title . This is an accurate reproduction of that car . If you are looking for a piece of racing history then I recommend this car .
