Good unit
I bought this unit couple months ago for my trip to Europe. I visited few countries: Switzerland, France, Italy. Drove for about 1500 kms. For the most part unit performed ok. Although , in couple instances it could not find location address, but luckily my rental car had built in navigation system. With this unit you have to remember that it looks for your destination address near your current location. If you travelling pretty far you have to tell it near what town it has to look for address. Same goes to travelling in diferrent countries. Let say if you start in one country and your destination in different country it might not find address. You have to manually have to enter town and country of your destination. It will not switch automatically. Good Screen size and reliable voice prompts
I bought this used and got it just in time for a Florida trip. It worked very well, even before i had the chance to reset it. The interface is intuitive and easy to use plus it had all my destinations in the available lists. One time it showed an exit that no longer existed, but quickly recalculated and got us there! I subsequently registered with Garmin and updated the software and maps for free. Its a reliable Garmin Unit and I recommend. My first GPS
We're traveling to Cancun and then driving to Belize City. I needed a GPS to help me navigate unknown territory. I bought the Nuvi from Alex, and it has all the maps I need ... USA. Canada, Mexico, Central America (to get us through Belize), and all of Europe thrown in. Alex's offer for 1 additional free map of our choice was perfect for us ... we chose Australia & NZ for a trip Down Under next year. With all those maps the price was unbeatable. The Nuvi 2555 is easy to use. This is my first GPS, and I like it a lot. When I emailed Alex with a question, he responded immediately. Works well

replacement for preexisting unit
This was a replacement for a pre-existing unit. Product replaced when old unit failed, was able to keep all my way points from old unit and add them to the replacement device. Instead of buying new and starting over, by buying this replacement unit I saved alot of time and alot of money with no loss of product quility and reliablity. Notes from experienced navigator who is using a lot of Garmin products at sea and on the road

Easy to upgrade
I love Garmin GPS they are very easy to use and very easy to upgrade. A lot of extra little features that make trips a little more entertaining. My kids loved to hear Dr. Nightmare voice, plus through out the trip he randomly speaks little quotes. So far so good.
Purchased this Garmin version as a previously owned unit. We have two other Garmin GPS Nuvi, both have been reliable. Went with the 2555LMT, because of the Lifetime Maps and Traffic feature. Which btw, the previous owner had already updated the unit to the latest map set. Since this was purchased as used, it didn't come with the required power cord nor external antenna to receive the Traffic updates. Also, we don't live in a metropolitan area that provides the traffic signal necessary to get the Traffic updates. However, those items have since been purchased, soon we'll be traveling to a larger city area to test out the accuracy of the reported slow downs & traffic warnings. So at this time, we're not able to comment on the Traffic concept. One thing I have noticed in comparing our earlier versions of the Garmin Nuvi, the current maps on the 2555LMT don't seem to go into as much detail for county roads and such. At least that's what has been discovered while searching various locations we would travel to in rural Missouri & Arkansas. Again, when given the opportunity, we'll see how the smaller county roads are displayed when we're able to compare this 2555LMT to the older NUVI model we have. (Sorry I just don't recall exactly the model number of our old Garmin units). In all honesty, the majority of my family rely on their smartphones for navigation when traveling. They use navigation apps that don't require "DATA" to be turned on. This 2555LMT is for my wife whom feels more secure trusting Garmin verses her cell phone. Go figure... ha. Will add though, none of the Garmins we own have ever let us down in the past. They may have directed us along routes that most locals would avoid, but we've always reached our destinations without issues. So the feature of Traffic reports is hoped to be a major advantage for my wife during her drives through major cities while traveling to her family in the sticks of Missouri & Arkansas.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Great, inexpensive unit!
Nice unit at a reasonable price. Does everything a good GPS should do without all the expensive extra whistles and bells. Lane assist very useful as is the spoken directions. Maps very accurate in the about 10 states it's been used.
