Sean Connery in Space!
Outland was directed by Peter Hyams, who later did 2010, which was another fine film. He was never appreciated, but his movies were fast and exciting. Outland's special effects were groundbreaking for the time and are still fun to watch. Sean Connery was, well, Sean Connery--tough and no nonsense.

Great Space Western!
This movie is an homage to High Noon, replacing Gary Cooper with Sean Connery and moving it all into space. I had a chance to compare the DVD to the Blu Ray and there is definitely an improvement. It is much clearer and makes the DVD look like a VHS tape.

LOOKS FANTASTIC ON BLU-RAY
I'VE WATCHED THIS MOVIE MORE TIME THAN I CAN REMEMBER. THE ONLY FLY IN THE OINTMENT WAS THE DREADFUL TRANSFER TO DVD. THAT ISSUE IS COMPLETELY ELIMINATED HERE AND THE MOVIE CAN BE ENJOYED AS INTENDED.

Gotta love High Noon in Space
I would have loved this as a double feature with Zardoz, but never mind, still love watching Sean do just about anything.

A Sci-Fi Western
I paid a little more than I wanted, but I have missed seeing this movie and the fact they remastered this for blue ray well, icing on the cake.

"high Noon" in space
It's "High Noon" in outer space. Dialogue and acting very engaging. It's Frances Sternhagen in top form as the doctor. Good banter between Frances and Sean.
