Blade was out of alignment
With the anvil pruner, the edge of the blade was out of alignment with the V-shaped notch in the plate, preventing a clean cut. Also, the serrated teeth on the plate just get in the way. The photo showed no teeth, but appears to be an outdated photo of an older model. I already had a pair of anvil pruners with teeth, and was trying to avoid them with this purchase. All in all, not satisfied with the anvil pruners in this set. No comment on the bypass pruners, since I returned them both.

Flimsy construction
The rivets in these tools are punched too deeply, making it almost impossible to lock or unlock the pruners. These appear to be manufacturer DEFECTS passed on to unwitting consumers!
