After squandering his grant money, despondent and recently widowed anthropologist James Krippendorf must produce hard evidence of the existence of a heretofore undiscovered New Guinea tribe. Grass skirts, makeup, and staged rituals transform his three troubled children into the "Shelmikedmu," a primitive culture whose habits enthrall scholars. But when a spiteful rival threatens to blow the whistle on Krippendorf's ruse, he gets into the act as well.

Funny movie from years ago that deserves another watch!
Loved this movie when it first came out years ago, when my husband and I were telling our friends about it I couldn't wait to find it, watch it again and share it with them. Richard Dreyfuss and Jenna Elfman are two of our most favorite actors ever. Richard Dreyfuss is amazing in everything he does. Not sure what happened to Jenna Elfman, what a hottie. This movie will tickle your funny bone.

Just as funny now, as it was when I first saw it... many years ago! It's a delightful film.
Wildly hilarious, just like the cover says. It is absolutely a fun ride.

So Funny!
This movie is so funny because this family is so dysfunctional! Sometimes it's just better to tell the truth and the father finds this out the hard and funny way, and his children get caught up in his big mess. Need a good laugh? Check this one out.

Great Flick, not so great video quality
It gets funnier each time I watch it. Showing it to friends for their first time is great. They actually howl with laughter through most the movie. Definitely a classic.
