Great if you have back issues
Gary Kraftsow is very knowledgeable and considers how each pose affects the neck and back. I have suffered with neck and back issues for years and had to give up traditional yoga classes because many of the poses hurt my back. Not so with this DVD. I am able to perform the poses without aggravating my spine, though I do have to modify a few of the poses to ensure that they do not hurt my back.

If people knew about this type of DVD physical therapists would be out of work
This was better than any of the physical therapists I went to! It wasn't until I gave up on physical therapists not listening and giving me routines that caused more pain that I started to consider that maybe there were DVD's that were better. Wow and how. I was rear ended at high speed while at a full stop. Wanting to avoid surgery as long as possible or altogether. Have been working to find solutions for 5+ years. I am 50+ years old This DVD is awesome. It is at the right speed, keeps me peaceful while doing it. There is no background music to interfere with my ability to really focus on what I am doing and feel my body as I need to be. And it offers prompts as reminders. I would like more prompts about when to tight core muscles, but I have learned that from the other DVD's I got for back pain. All of the DVD's are hands above in terms of how they helped me. Physical therapist appointments - zero stars. Only value PT had was how bad the therapists were, but how it helped me recognize when something was helpful and valuable. DVD's - 10 stars. The other DVD's that have been helpful were Jessica Smith Yoga fusion fix and her Gentle pilates yoga. I am still exploring another low back/neck series by Lillah Swartz called yoga.

It’s very effective.
I’m impressed with this mans videos to increase strength. The lower back one has really worked for me so now I’m working on the upper. Slow and thorough and different levels to chose from as you increase your strength.

Excellent resource for dealing with and preventing low back pain
This DVD has saved me from lots of back pain. It's what I turn to every time my back gets stiff or threatens to hurt. The practice is slow and simple but really works.
