Nine o'clock on Monday morning, August 18, 1969: while the work force was starting the day, Jimi Hendrix was taking the stage at Woodstock. While hundreds of thousands had already left, 25,000 people remained to see this incredible performance. Hendrix, along with drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Billy Cox, offered masterly renditions of the songs of the recently disbanded Experience ("Hey Joe," "Foxey Lady"), and gave a preview of the blues-based Band of Gypsys ("Izabella," "Hear My Train A Comin'"), as well as Jimi's era-defining rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner." Though the weekend had witnessed some landmark performances by other great artists, this performance from Hendrix is regarded by many as the defining moment in a festival ripe with defining moments.

Jimi Hendrix Live at Woodstock DVD
This is a great DVD from start to finish it has great picture quality and sound quality even though it was recorded almost 50 years ago. If you like Rock n Roll then you have to watch the master Jimi Hendrix at the top of his game. Some of the guitar solo's are mind blowing for their time. Their is not one artist alive today with the magical artistic powers of Hendrix.

Ray Price on the DVD and CD can't find this at the store
You finally get to see Jimmy Hendrix at his best 53 years later which never made it to the film only a couple of songs made it to the film now you get the whole thing

Best live experience video
Man once you start looking at this particular video you would get more copies of it because there was only one Jimmy Hendrix and at Woodstock jamming outside electrified back in the 60’s the old school rock and roll.

This is an almost complete hi def hi fi recording of Jimi Hendrix live at Woodstock.
This rendition of Jimi's several live bands is much looser than most. Congas? But to their credit Mitch Michel is on drums, and the bass player, Billy Cox, both on Band of Gypsies, I saw this trio live when they came to Tulsa in 1970. This DVD is better than any Live ticket you could have bought. Jimi covers the big hits, and nails a wicked Star Spangled Banner. The airplane/ bomb noises coming off that 1969 White Strat's tremolo give a haunting feel the war and this point in time. No one has ever made this tone (3 big Marshall Amps) a handful of stomp effects pedals. The feedback is real. The producer of the entire Woodstock was Jimi's producer. So the sound mix is very good. Their is a segment where he tells you about the conditions. You literally will be on the stage at the end of Woodstock. What's that worth? That white strat sold for nearly a million.
