Baa Baa Black Sheep: Vol. 2 continues the television drama that tells the story of the Black Sheep Squadron of World War II. This 3-disc set contains the final episodes of the first season that originally aired in 1976. In Baa Baa Black Sheep: Vol. 2, the air fighting squadron known as the Black Sheep continue to patrol the South Pacific under leader Pappy Boyington. Officially known as VMF-214, the aviation group is dubbed the Black Sheep because they are a band of misfits, but when the going gets tough, there is no better group of fighters. Known as the “Terrors of the South Pacific”, the fighting squadron is always ready when duty calls. Loosely based around the real wartime adventures of Greg “Pappy” Boyington, this drama is noted for its realistic portrayal of war as well as its air combat scenes. Baa Baa Blacksheep
I missed the show when it was on as I was out the country with the army. When I first saw it in "reruns" I knew one day I had to have it my collection. I met Pappy Boyington years ago, a very interesting and nice man. Although he was a marine he treated this soldier kindly and we shared war stories as I was once attached to a marine unit in vietnam. When I met him I had my son with me, he treated him like a grandson. Now as I view the various episodes I can imagine Pappy with his great personality. And as you view the episodes you see many of the actors playing Pappy's Blacksheep who went on to other roles in other series. The story told by the series are very intertaining, and for many combat veterans, such as myself, seem very realistic. The series is a great addition to my large DVD collection, when I want to watch a short movie or espiode, the Blacksheep fit right in, and especially with the programs on TV today that really do not entertain me. Finally got all the episodes
This is a great series. Very confusing season series. There is season 1, then season 1 volume 2, and finally season 2. No one selling these episodes knows what seasons are what.
