Surfing up to speed
I purchased 2 of these wifi adapters to untether 2 desktops from their wired connection to the router. These adapters are amazingly fast when paired to my ac1600 wireless router. There is no noticeable difference in speed from wired to non wired. Everthing loads quickly and smoothly. I play Fortnite flawlessly with no lag. The inly peave that I had was that the Windows 10 drivers dont work in Windows 10. After googling for a few hours, I found one fix used by many people having same problem. Some problems with software. But its ok.
Software is available on the linksys site. I downloaded it and installed it, but the speed was horrible. 10megs down and 10 megs up using the AE6900 router on AC mode. I also found that microsoft has drivers for it, and I installed them and now I have full speed. Everything works fine except that the computer has a tendency to reboot spontaneously with this device. (1 to 2 times a day). I found going back to ethernet. was the only choice to use for now and no more reboots. Just awesome, you will love it.
Just awesome! I have an older laptop that was using a 801.11a/b wireless card. Plugged in this ac card, turned off integrated card and within seconds i went from 19mb/s to over 100mb/s, which is what Internet speed I pay for from Verizon. That's over a 500% increase in wireless speed! No drivers or installation were required, just plug and play on Win10 Home and paid less than $25. I've never experienced connection degradation or connection loss although i'm always close to one of my Orbi satellites, so I have no comment on connection distance. The one con would be the size in how it protrudes from my USB port on my laptop (about 3-4"). Obviously, this would not be a problem with a desktop. Great Network Adapter
Purchased item to link my 2nd floor desktop to my home network. Router is on the 1st floor. Simple set up. Loaded drivers from the enclosed CD and plugged adapter into a USB port. It works
The speed was okay. However performs the same on a old or new device and this was after driver updates on both. Could utilize technology with 5g more efficiently to correct the problem. I did not get tech support to increase my speeds past 125mbps.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Generalüberholt

Speed that belies its size

Works well but gets hotter that it should.
