After the runaway success of their program ALL IN THE FAMILY, the producing team of Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin took a cue from the successful British sitcom STEPTOE AND SON in order to create this smash vehicle for African-American comedian Redd Foxx. SANFORD AND SON details the comedically endless disagreements between Fred Sanford (Foxx), aging junkyard owner, and his 34-year-old son Lamont (Demond Wilson). Airing from 1972 to 1977, the show was NBC's most popular program for four of its six seasons and earned four Emmy nominations. This collection compiles all fourteen episodes from the show's first season.

Thank you
My father walked and acted just like Fred Sanford. I had the entire series, but season went missing. When I get nostalgic I pull out this series to get fond memories of watching this show with my dad. I needed season 1 to keep this tradition to pass on to my grandchildren. My father would have loved his great grandchildren, so thank you for helping me keep a family tradition alive.

Do not buy anything used that has not been tested!!
I received the dvds. They did not work in my DVD player. Tried playing them in a different DVD player but still they did not play. It kept giving a error message” disc is dirty” but I did not find any dirty on the dvds
