A Mixed Blessing
"Deadly Blessing" has the feel of a film where the people in charge couldn't quite figure out what they wanted. The feel of the movie changes several times, right up to the controversial ending. But that ending and two or three other scenes are definitely ones that will stick in your memory. The director would use variations of a couple of them in later films. He may have thought the leading ladies were too glamorous, but their beauty is a big draw. This is a movie that perfectly fits the old phrase "Love or regret it, you won't forget it."
