Best adaptation of the novel Jane Eyre
Best adaptation of my favorite novel. Jane seems to speak in a whisper at times, which sometimes makes her difficult to understand, but that is true to the character. The actors are spot on, especially during the very emotional scenes. Acted well, filmed well and comes closer to the novel than any adaptation I have seen.

Faithful to original story, superb acting!
This version of "Jane Eyre" is the best version I have seen, and the most faithful to the original story. Timothy Dalton is the perfect Mr. Rochester, indeed, as good as George C. Scott was in the 1970's version! Although Zelah Clarke's personality doesn't come across as passionate as Jane Eyre was purported to be, she gives a pretty good performance. The child who played the young Jane Eyre was perfect for the role! I've seen 3 movie versions of this story, and this is my favorite.

The best rendering of Jane Eyre
This is by far the best acted and presented movie of Jane Eyre. The other movies are excellent but this one is super-excellent. Jane, the mousy orphan who is employed by Mr. Rochester to care for his daughter is beautifully played by Zela Clarke. Timothy Dalton excellently plays the moody and handsome Mr. Edward Rochester. This movie most closely follows the narrative of the book.

Best rendition of Jane Eyre ever.
Bought this DVD to replace a video copy which I could no longer play. Love the characters and the actors. It is my favorite version of Jane Eyre. Was a little disconcerting because it is like watching the tv version with the interruptions but never the less I love this production.

The best Jane Eyre movie ever made.
The best Jane Eyre movie ever made. Why? This movie sticks to the way the book was written. A very well made movie. It's a little long but it's worth it. The movie you can get lost in. It transports you back to that time and era. Just a wonderful, wonderful movie.

More fleshed out story of Jane Eyre
Maybe because this mini series is 11 episodes, the script gets into a LOT more detail and background info than any other versions I’ve seen. It explained a lot more character motivations for what they did. And besides, it has Timothy Dalton ( drool!!!!)!

Best filmed version of this classic novel
The most true to Charlotte Bronte's novel. Casting is very good. Timothy Dalton is a bit more handsome than described in the novel, but he captures the passion of the character in an exceptional way. A little annoying to view intro and credits at beginning and end of each of the eleven episodes, but well worth it.

I've seen many different renditions of the movie Jane Eyre this one is a good one I don't like every rendition but this is a really good one Timothy Dalton does a great job and so does the actress who plays Jane Eyre

Good Adaptation of a Classic Story
Not clear on whether I'm to review "Jane Eyre", the video, or this particular product. This was a DVD in good condition, delivered quickly, and worth its cost. I have five versions of Jane Eyre, my personal favorite being Samantha Morton and Ciaran Hinds (1997), but this one withTimothy Dalton (1996) is a great adaptation for television, too. I'm glad I found it on eBay.

Jane Eyre
I saw this BBC production years ago and only happened upon it by accident on ebay. Jane Eyre is my favorite novel and this made for television series keeps remarkably close to the book. The sets are stunning in a dark, stormy way and the acting exceptional. The BBC has a reputation of producing some of the finest broadcasts and Jane Eyre follows in that tradition. Jane is an extraordinarily strong women and a role model for all women and girls.
