The Rokinon RK35mm is a prime lens with a standard wide-angle, designed for both full-frame and APS-C sized sensors. This one is for Canon EF cameras and when you use it with an APS-C sensor or the 35mm-equivalent, the focal length is 56mm with stunningly clear and consistent results throughout the image. When used with full-frame image sensors, these 35mm Rokinon lenses offer a wide-angle perspective and they are great to use outdoors on your Canon cameras to capture things like landscapes. They are very good in low light and can bring your sunset photography to a new level (though a tripod is also recommended for these things). Being a 35mm long lens it produces portraits, house interiors and landscapes too, with wide detail from edge to edge of the image, rather than a large depth of field. When used with APS-C-sized sensors, this 56mm equivalent standard prime provides a similar field of view to normal vision. Its fast f/1.4 maximum benefits working in low-light conditions and provides greater control over manual focus placement for shallow depth of field applications. This Rokinon 35mm Canon mount lens promises minimal aberrations and distortions of any kind. In the optical design of the lens, there are two high refractive index elements and one aspherical element, which have been incorporated into the mechanics to minimize such chromatic aberrations. It also makes sure that flare and ghost images are minimal thanks to its f/22 aperture and 77 mm filter. It has a UMC coating applied to its elements to reduce surface reflections and to prevent flare and ghosting. This also improves light transmission and makes for more contrast-rich imagery. For video photography, these 35mm lenses have a d-click ring, which encourages smooth, quiet exposure adjustments during recording, so you will never hear the camera on your footage.     Good image, sluggish, uneven focus ring.

    The 35mm Rokinon is my most frustrating focal length. The others work great. image is good, but this lens is worthless in focus pulls because the focus ring is uneven and sluggish in parts. The one I previously owned had hardly any resistance. This has good basic resistance, but it's uneven and sluggish in spots. Not sure what to do about it. A good, well-damped, smooth and even focus pull is essential for what I do. Maybe I'll just forget the 35mm and simulate that focal length by shooting the 24mm in APS-C mode.

    Wow

    First things first. This lens is fully manual but the photos are so wonderfully colorful and contrast rich. Sharp as well. If you’re thinking of buying this lens, buy it. Just be aware of the fact that this is fully manual and my camera (70D) sometimes won’t read the correct exposure. You’ll have some missed shots as you get practice but the learning curve is worth it.

    Rokinon for the win

    I'm happy this was VERY affordable. It's great quality, but be aware that it is going to put some weight onto your camera. If you don't mind that and the manual focus. This lens is amazing. The L.C.W was a great add on as well.

    A step above

    For the price rokinon delivers a superior product for a fraction of the cost of its competition. The glass on any of their lenses can be compared to and stand up next to the competition. Any cine or prime lens also cannon's L series glass.
