I would have expected it to be cleaned because the seller I purchased from has always been top notch. Even so, I used white distilled vinegar (there are other methods but this I what I do) and a q-tip to dab the vinegar where the battery corrosion is. It will make some sizzling sounds and dissolve the corrosion. After that, controller works perfectly.

I thoroughly tested all 3 used controllers and they each passed every check except for one minor thing: One of the controller's motion sensitivity was off. Recalibrated and confirmed that it completely loses calibration after a swing or two in Wii Sports Resort Swordplay compared to the other two controllers. Ultimately a minor issue but still. Otherwise the controllers were perfect, thank you!
