It's an excellent book for someone learning Algebra One. A very well written book, indeed. The late John Saxon was a West Pointer and taught in the math department in in the early seventies. In algebra one - half, John Saxon uses the West Point 10 - 6 method to facilitate understanding. Out of ten math problems, there are 6 old problems a student recognizes and four new problems. This book is very popular among the home school crowd. I highly recommend this book to beginning algebra one students.
