THIS IS PERSONAL: THE HUNT FOR THE YORKSHIRE RIPPER was inspired by the true crime story which held Northern England in thrall in the late '70s. Alun Armstrong stars as Asst. Chief Constable George Oldfield, the Yorkshire police official who made it his mission in life to track down the person responsible for the murder and mutilation of 13 prostitutes. When a tape recording purportedly made by the perpetrator was sent to Oldfield's office, the press declared that the case was practically closed -- but Oldfield had been sent on too many false leads and wild goose chases to declare victory. Also appearing is Craig Cheetham as principal suspect Peter Sutcliffe.

As I did the security on this film it’s a must have ! Fantastic .
3hours of excellence the actors have said it was a testing film to work on . You will see why . Don’t miss out .

THE RIPPER'S REIGN OF TERROR
Recent drama "The Long Shadow" is virtually a remake of this. Both are excellent accounts of the ripper story.

This is personal
This is a very good drama and depicts accurate events. There are some very good actors in this and Alun Armstrong plays the part of George Oldfield brilliantly.

Excellent factual film.
Although this film followed all the facts of the case, at the time, and, was over two hours long, it was still very enjoyable and held the viewer all the way. Would definitely recommend.
