Well worth it.
I use these for my LED flashlights. I have had several LED flashlights destroyed by corrosion of the alkaline cells that I usually like to use. The issue is that the flashlight needs to be available immediately, so needs to be stored with the cells in it, but the flashlight is seldom used. The alkalines corrode over time, then swell up, cementing them into the flashlight, and making repair difficult at best. The long shelf and service life of these lithium cells is ideal for these conditions. They are sealed, but with a pressure relief valve. Pressure relief is important only for extremely high discharge situations, not for ordinary usage. The lithium cells have a 20 year shelf life, and do not leak. Long Lasting in digital Cameras
These are the longest lasting AAA batteries I have found I have been using Lithium batteries for at least the last 8 years! The only negative is that when they do go dead they go like quick. Super light ... transforms your tv remotes and game controllers

For my weather station
I change these out every year in my rooftop sending unit and indoor receiver weather station. Still have life in them but I would rather change with weather and roof are dry. Metal roofs can be slippery. Weather permitting I change on Jan. 1st and reset all the temps and rain/snow amounts.
