I've already made the 'Meat and Potato Pie' that was reminiscent of a recipe my nan used to make over sixty years ago. A must for serious pie makers
This book is invaluable as it has all the different types of pastry with very clear instructions on how to make them. I am particularly interested in the hot water pastry for pork pies etc. The instructions and illustrations were brilliant. There are lots of different ideas for pies and puds that I will be trying out in the coming months. There are a lot of old fashioned recipes in the book that have a modern twist that make them fun. Great book
As a fairly accomplished baker myself, I wondered if this book would be any good when I borrowed it from the local library. It proved highly useful, both for technique tips and recipes, and I bought it as soon as the library copy went back. Ok but needs more proper pies
