Excellent movie with strong characters and superb acting!
"Stronger" is based on the memoir of the same name by Jeff Baumann, who lost both legs in the Boston Marathon bombing. Jake Gyllenhaal gives an outstanding performance as Jeff as he copes with the loss of his legs and new status as hero, which he feels he doesn't deserve. The strong cast includes Miranda Richardson as Jeff's hard-drinking but loving mother; Tatiana Maslany as Erin, his devoted. strong-minded girlfriend, and local Boston actors as Jeff's working-class family. Being from Boston, with vivid memories of the bombing and its aftermath, I was very moved by seeing again how the city came together and became BOSTON STRONG!
