great item for new project
I have a custom built, from the ground up, hybrid race gun. The extended magazine release was engineered and tooled to fit my grip girth and thumb length profile. It was somehow lost during the last cleaning and I was hoping this item would replace it. Although this item of EXTREMELY outstanding quality, t does not fit the milled out recess on my left grip panel, consequently, with the slide protector, custom molded grips, the pistol will sometimes tend to grip the magazine while trying to release, and any manipulation of the left grip assembly results in occasional slide bind. However, I am keeping this for my next 1911 CCW purchase...I will have a gunsmith measure the recess and mill out a new release button so that it will fit the length, width, profile, and checkering pattern of the original...However, I got a beautifully engineered mag release button though.!!!

this is a quality part.well made. It's pretty much a plug & play part, I didn't have any problems installing it & it works well. I can now reach the mag drop without shifting my grip at all & that's what I was looking for. This is a 5 star part. For myself I had to lighten the catch spring a little better than 1 coil as it was much to stiff for me. Also had to relieve the left grip for clearance because I have wraparound grips. These minor mods were no big deal & not the fault of the catch

Wilson Combat
This Over sized 1911 mag release is well made, easy to use and fits very well.The shipper sent it out quickly. Would buy more of there gun parts.

Fantastic part
With the size of my grip on my coonan, I couldn't reach the mag release without letting my grip go to shift my hand forward, even with larger mag releases. This one was perfect, and makes my pistol so much easier to operate!

I've installed this on three 1911's (Remington R1-S, Ruger 10mm and Ruger .45) so far with great results. Drop in fit and the oversize tab cleared the grip panel on all three guns without any modifications and is easy to reach with the right hand thumb. It really helps to speed up mag changes during competition shoots. The only niggle I noticed is these mag releases have a bit more meat to them where the magazine notch is. So it requires a touch more effort to insert a magazine fully. Not a bad thing really as a light bump to the release is less likely to cause a mag to drop. Magazines drop easily when the release is fully pressed.

Fantastic addition to my Kimber
Great part. well made and was a true drop in part. No filing or sanding needed. I have a Kimber Pro Carry II and it fits the look and feel of the gun perfectly. it is great for small hands and works well with my VZ Grips. I had no problem with clearance but that might be different for other grips. I have never been unhappy with Wilson Combat parts for my 1911 or Berettas.

Extended 1911 mag release.
Having smaller hands, the standard or enlarged button is great for a two hand grip. But when reloading with a single hand (left or right) this larger button makes s huge difference! I have Pachmayer’s rosewood grips with the rubber finger groove. No modification needed!

Extended mag release
It looks great but it didn’t fit as nice as the original. It’s gappy on the right side of the frame and I had to sand file and polish the shaft and mag catch for it to be operational with one thumb. The first time I inserted a magazine it burred my magazine up. I’ve always heard good things about Wilson Combat however I expected more. The milling cuts are too bright for my liking. I’ll be drilling through it and skeletonising it and media blasting it to dull it down and match the rest of my upgrades.:

Oversized stainless steel magazine release
The Wilson Combat oversized 1911 magazine release #405S is FANTASTIC! It's easy to install and functions flawlessly. Best size button for competition shooters on the market. You definitely don't have to brake your shooting grip to release your magazine. Love it!
