Makes the magic happen
I got this because they feature in the Tackmat layout mat I bought as a template. Points can be switched manually but flicking them remotely brings a layout to life A motor can be easily mounted in a housing set which includes a bar that can connect the motor to the control bar on a points track segment or alternatively mounted on the underside of a board with track laid on it. Setting the motor into the corresponding slots of the housing has enabled me to experiment with the points using a maleable temporary adhesive to hold it onto the Trackmat or straight onto the floor. This keeps the motor and track n place while the motor pushes or pulls the control bar on the points track (depending which way round you mounted it). Points require quite precise alignment. Very handy while I decide what I want and how to do it. Really helpful to have all that experience without the cost of making holes in a big board. I pack it all away again and store the mounted motor in the packaging the housing came in I also managed to mount cell powered LEDs to be activated while the point motors were engaged, so I remembered to dis-engage them again. It also looks pretty cool where modern signal lights wouldn't really suit an 1800s vibe. I've got a good collection of these housings and motors now, so I can create quite complex set ups. As a budding modeller I could have Improvised these. These days I have limited time to build layouts so these are priceless timesavers.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Horses for courses
If you need/want to automate a Hornby point, there are only a few choices and only two from Hornby. This does what it says on the packet and can be fitted under the layout or can be surface mounted with a special housing purchased separately.
