Product Information

Up to four players take to the course in Lee Travino's Fighting Golf. Gamers choose from four characters: Pretty Amy, Big Jumbo, Super Mex (a. k. a. Lee Trevino), and Miracle Chosuke. Play is carried out on four different courses in the United States and Japan and each course consists of the standard complement of obstacles (bunkers, water, varying degrees rough, and out of bounds).<br><br>Basic game mechanics consist of the standard, "triple click" power meter. After choosing your club and the direction of you aim, the first press of the button begins the power meter moving. The second press of the button stops the meter at the appropriate power and a third press of the button governs the accuracy of your swing. A slightly off swing will garner a slightly sliced or hooked ball. A wild swing will produce a wild slice or hook.<br><br>Graphically, Lee Travino's Fighting Golf consists of four main windows. The main window shows your golfer addressing the ball and their view of the hole. In the lower left of the screen is an overhead viewpoint of the hole and in the upper left is a text-based window containing useful information on score, wind, length of the grass, etc.. The final window is a small illustration of your golfer that displays their reaction to any particular shot

Yet another overlooked GEM!
Outstanding, really fun Golf game! I don't even care about "real" golf, but started getting hooked on NES "Black Box" Golf a couple of years ago- then discovered the excellent Mario Golf on Gameboy Color. Needless to say, After a misbuy on Bandai Challenge: Pebble Beach, I thought I'd try another NES cart, and I'm so happy that I did! This is very similar to the original NES Golf, but much enhanced- controls are way better, you can better aim your shots, there's way more info for you, great, jaunty music, cute characters, and fun animations! Try hitting the ball into the water with Pretty Amy. LOL! Lee Trevino Fighting Golf is so much better than Lee Carvallo Putting Challenge. You know what I'm talking about. Definitely an overlooked gem of a game- this and Side Pocket have been my two summer discoveries so far, and I've been playing NES since NEW- still have my 1987 original, with games that go for a LOT of money. However, in the case of Fighting Golf, the cart doesn't cost anything and provides a ton of replay value, and interest. A nice, fun, relaxing game for the NON golfer, just a game fan. PS: It's really cute!

great golf game
I've checked out all of the golf games for the nes and the snes. This Lee Trevino's golf game is far and away my favorite
