Audible difference heard in my audio setup
I have an older home and the power is not as clean as my previous home. I've used UPS's and Furman products with small enhancements in picture quality and sound. This Surgex is 3 step above in what I currently use. I just like the fact that during a direct hit of a lightning strike, none of my hard earn audio equipment will let it's magic smoke out. What I gather is that the incoming power goes through some filters. This clean power does goes through you power supplies and the magic happens. You hardware is only as good as it's power supply. Sometimes your power supply needs some more help and this where the surgx comes into play. This is not just some power strip with some dead weight in it. This is the real deal as you can see in the pics.

Awesome sauce! Came in good condition without any dings or rack rash. A good, heavy solid product at a second-hand price that makes sense. I am using it for music setup and studio monitors. It has a line conditioner, and I believe my noise floor has been lowered significantly. However I still have some hum which I have found has been induced by a noisy power supply-- I believe my guitar pickups are actually picking it up. The Best Surge Protector
One of the few surge protectors that doesn't die after a year, lasts forever. I have four, one for each of my audio/video and computer systems. This particular version also protects against over/undervoltages (you can tell by 4 lights on right). Costs $500 new, ebay is my source for these. I don't know much about surge protectors, but I did some reading, and the majority opinion seems to be that this is the best. Purchasing it used (for $80 delivered) makes it cost effective, since they apparently never wear out. I didn't rack-mount it, but put it on the floor on some blocks of wood.
