"Malcolm X" - Review
I am not a Spike Lee fan, but "Malcolm X" is one of the greatest African-American films ever made in the history of cinema. Denzel Washington was completely snubbed for this movie. Every frame of this film is highly inspirational, thanks to the movie's cinematographer and editor. The important thing is, this film is a study of a man's struggle through racism and leadership. What I find to be the most interesting is how this movie flows, it goes from one transition into another, like a homage from other classic movies. For example; The Godfather (1972), Ben-Hur (1959), Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Gandhi (1982), and Citizen Kane (1941). Spike Lee shows his artistic style, that it make this movie into pure entertainment like not other. However, the theme of this movie is very misleading due to its topic on religion. I would only recommend this film for educational or studying purposes. Great Film!!!
