THIS machine is powerful, and to-the-point. The right machine for a very good price for my expectations.
Very straightforward machine. If you took home-ec in school, you can use this easily! I have owned "computerized" or digital machines in the past; they make me crazy trying to micro-manage my creativity! THIS machine is powerful, and to-the-point. Manual adjustment of stitch tension, length, and style. That's it. Pick your needle according to fabric weight, choose the right thread, TEACH yourself how to tension/loosen the stitches on scrap fabric that matches the fabric for your project, and the machine reliably and strongly does what you've asked. I am just a "hobby" / mending / personal alterations type sewer, but I wanted to be SURE that when I went to hem some jeans or patch a heavy coat that I would not be stuck with a wimpy machine struggling to punch through many layers of sturdy fabric. This machine has delivered. As for the "reconditioned" designation, the machine I received was COMPLETE with everything it originally came with, original instruction manual, in original box, and in all ways appeared and works like a NEW machine. I have not been compensated in any way to write this up; I just give credit where credit is due and this is the right machine for a very good price for my expectations.

Very pleased with the product and its versatility.
It is easy to use and the guide is helpful and easy to understand. It is stable and that keeps the fabric, no matter what the type be it thick or thin, and works well on all.

Good deal
Versatile and capable, old school non computerized ,,,So it doesn't have a steep learning curve, More than adequate for most projects, I believe this machine is suitable for both beginner and master.with a nice balance of features,,,,, you can buy less machine or more machine but doubtful that you can buy a machine that can handle the wide variety of materials like this one can with a better bottom line.

Heavy Duty!!
I have been using the Model 4423 for years now, and I bought this 4452 for my mother, and the only difference is the extra 9 stiches available. These Singer Heavy Duty Machines are great for the Home when sewing Heavy Denium or even some leather.

Does everything you need a straight stitch machine to do and it does it very well.
Good sewing machine that is straight forward to use. If you are new to sewing this machine is a great buy. Like anything with a lot of moving parts there will always be a learning curve and I suggest watching some videos before getting started to limit learning frustrations. One tip I found was adding some oil to the new machine did make it run significantly better, I suggest looking up a video of how to oil it and do it right when you get it.

Love this sturdy machine!
I had a Brother Project Runway model that after about 5 years, would only back stitch for some reason. I finally replaced it with this model which I absolutely love. It is sturdy and does all the basics and then some. Perfect for my sewing needs.

Heavy duty machine
I’ve had the same model for 8 years and with the price of just a good cleaning and minor repairs I found it more economical to get a new one with a 2 year guarantee. I make cushion covers etc and this machine is truly a work hose and with one button. Button holer it far surpasses other singer machine and I use it everyday as I am a seamstress
