Missing crucial part
This seems like it would be a fantastic kit for the price. My 8-year-old son has been dying to build his own radio, so he researched how to do that and decided to save his allowance to purchase this kit. He was thrilled when it arrived and immediately began assembling it. He was extremely disappointed however when the crystal diode was nowhere to be found. His $20 was wasted since the radio cannot function without this part. We can buy this separately, but I was very disappointed in the false advertising on this product which claims right on the box that it includes the crystal diode.

Fun!
Always love working with electronics and radio. This is a step by step easy build that anyone can do with patience. Wrapping the coil does need patience and perhaps adult guidance.

Crystal Radio-Not good quality
We purchased this for our 9 year old grandson. My husband put it together with him so it was done correctly. The cardboard that the wire wraps around was very flimsy and at the end of the project they could not receive any stations, etc. so the whole thing was a waste of time and money and a disappointment to our grandson. I would not recommend the crystal radio to anyone.

junk diode makes radio unuseable
built radio and didnt work. replaced diode with a 1n34a and then i got at least 1 station.
