Great item with the money
I love adult coloring and have many different types of very expensive colored pencils. I have tried so many pencil sharpeners and constantly have problems with breakage when trying to sharpen them. Not anymore! This sharpener works great for my PrismaColor Premier, Faber Castell Polychromos and Derwent pencils. I no longer need a separate sharpener for each pencil since this sharpener has many different slots to fit each size pencil and NO more wasted money breaking the tips over and over trying to get a sharp point.

Great Pencil Sharpener
I have owned this sharpener for over five years and it is still going strong. I use it for my colored pencil drawings, and my four elementary school-age children use it for their pencils, so it gets a lot of use. One of the most enjoyable features is the large, clear transparent holder for shavings. You don't have to empty it very often, and you can see exactly how full or empty the shavings holder is at any time. The holder pulls out from the front, so it's really easy to empty when you do have to do so. Overall, the design of the item is aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. Like an old friend, it's got Personality! It also adjusts for pencils of various diameters; my kids have some fat, novelty pencils that the X-acto sharpens well, but these pencils wouldn't fit into other models at all. There are a few minor imperfections. For one, I find it just a bit on the loud side. I also have a Sony electric sharpener and that, by comparison, is quieter. In addition, this sharpener shapes the pencil point into a rather short cone. The advantage of producing this shape is that if you're using colored pencils that are prone to breaking, there is less risk of the point breaking because there is less exposed core not surrounded by wood casing. By contrast, my Sony sharpener shapes the point into a more slender, elongated point which from a technical perspective, is probably better for fine pencil work because you don't have to sharpen a long, slender point as often. After five years of fairly heavy usage, my X-acto School Pro electric pencil sharpener is still putting good, sharp points on my pencils and it's very rare for a point to break in the act of being sharpened. I would recommend it to anyone who does a lot of sharpening, and/or wants a large holder for shavings that doesn't have to be emptied frequently.

One of the top rated electric pencil sharpeners with good reason.
Lives up to the reviews. This is a heavy duty, reliable, size adaptable, easy to operate electric pencil sharpener. It also has an excellent oversize waste receptacle that is easy to empty out. Great product!

Sharpens Like A Champ
This is a terrific pencil sharpener. Being able to sharpen several different types of pencils is a great feature. It's quiet too.

Great for classroom
Bought this for my middle school class. I went through 4 pencil sharpeners last year. This sharpener is of great quality and all my coworkers use this sharpener. They were giving these out for free in a raffle in my school and the teachers were fighting for them all. Very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this product.

Excellent Sharpener
This is an excellent sharpener, exactly like the one we have in the school classroom I work at. I am keeping this at home, since we already have one in my class. LOVE this pencil sharpener for color pencils too
This is the best color pencil sharpener I've found! Works on different size pencils. Suggestion: sharpen maybe 5 or 6 color pencils and then use a regular graphite lead pencil so you don't get buildup of pencil wax on blades. Terrific sharpener!

Pencil sharpening machine!
This lil pencil sharpener will literally eat pencils up. It's powerful, lightweight, easy to use and clean. Sharpens thin and fat pencils. Great value and perfect for my classroom. I have a total of 57 students that like sharpening pencils. I highly recommend this sharpener.

Revolving Multi-Hole Faceplate Fell Off With First Use
It appears the cutting blades are the best part of this unit, but because the face plate fell off during the first rotation, I have to hold my pencils perfectly straight as the faceplate was designed as a guide to hold the pencil in the correct position. The faceplate seems to be designed to be held in place by a tiny round magnet...and I mean TINY. I’m so disappointed. I really wanted this to work for me in my art studio!!

The last sharpener you'll buy
The wife loves to do coloring books. She says that coloring relieves stress. Needless to say, I buy lots of books. It's a good thing to keep the boss as stress free as possible. Naturally, we bought quite a few different colored pencils. Soft ones and hard ones. Cheap ones and expensive ones. I bought her several of the battery operated sharpeners and they wore out quite fast. We bought quite a few of manual sharpeners and the blades just would not keep up. So I told her that I was going to look for a professional sharpener. I came across the X-Acto School Electric Pencil Sharpener and looked at reviews. I figured if it works in classrooms, day after day then maybe this was the sharpener that we should own. Bought it from Target Stores' Ebay page and it arrived the next day! Talk about fast delivery!! Well packed and such a sturdy looking device. Plugged it in and tried all of her pencils. Soft ones, hard ones, medium ones...did not matter. This sharpener handled them all. It has a dial on it to select the pencil size. Nice quiet but stout motor. The cup that collects the shavings is nice and big. The unit feels substantial. Has good weight to it and is angled just right. It may cost more than some other sharpeners, however, I have always believed that you get what you pay for. This pencil sharpener is the real deal. Wife is happy and you know the saying: Happy wife is a happy life. Value priced and lightning fast delivery...you can't go wrong with the X-Acto Sharpener from Target.
