There was "0" (pronounced ZERO) building in this. Big boast that doesn't deliver.
First of all, it's the standard cliche's/propaganda of "manifest destiny" without the critical improvements and perspective of scholarship. Tecumseh was a 2 or 3 year phenomena, not a mass movement, Boone was a willing tool of real estate gamblers, Kit Carson was a murderer, Fremont was a lazy government employee happy to let other people do his job for him. Meriweather Lewis was a girlscout. All of these characters are very sordid, sleaze bags (with the exception of Davey Crocket and Tecumseh who were uprighteous and noble, but who were both brought down by the usual villains of Greed, Lying, Cheating and Homicidal Bullying by thieves and rapists). Not only were the subjects tired, played-out and shop-worn by lazy plagarist "writers", the filming was also low-bar. Detroit is portrayed as if in Mountainous terrain. Ha! I saw the same stand of trees used for many, many shots. Footage is repeated to pad out run time. So easy to make this alot better. It was irritating to watch. Save your money.

Excellent for history buffs
I saw this program on TV and had to have it, The coverage of the historic people in detail was new to me and and enjoyable. I would recommend this DVD to everybody who enjoys history.
