Instead he sent TWO very nice alternatives: British Commonwealth 1937 Coronation FDCs, with very interesting postmarks for 12 May 1937, the actual day of the Coronation. The GB-equivalents were, it seems, all postmarked the 13th. (Because the 12th was a National Holiday with no postal service available?) Anyway, the alternatives are very pleasing. Arrived on time and well packaged with numerous other items.
