Hornby 7274 small DCC decoder 4 pin
Needed to replace a faulty unit. Ordered the new one which arrived promptly, removed the loco body, unplugged the faulty one and plugged in the new decoder. Replaced the body and placed the loco on my test track and set up with my Hornby select controller - loco now works fine.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Easy swap to an existing socket, but could be better
If you are looking for a simple plug-in replacement for Hornby 4-pin decoder this seems to be the only game in town and is simple enough to install into the socket. Unfortunately the range of CVs is limited and one that I requently adjust (CV5 for maximum voltage) is not supported. With hindsight I would probably have been better off cutting off the Hornby 4 pin socket and hard wiring in a micro decoder from another manufacturer which would probably be more versatile. Does exactly what I bought it for

Bad Chip
Chip difficult to install and then burnt out almost immediately. I have never been lucky with Hornby 4 pin chips. I have now hard wired a 6 pin chip in and that is completely successful.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
