Platinum Games' stylish witch returns for more frenetic action in the Wii U exclusive Bayonetta 2. Players once again take control of the titular Bayonetta as she casts magic spells with her hair and uses a balletic mix of melee combat and high-powered weapons to dispatch hordes of angels and demons. Set several months after the original game, Bayonetta 2 finds the lithe protagonist attempting to travel to the fiery pits of Inferno to rescue her friend Jeanne, whose soul was claimed by a demon during a summoning that backfired.<br><br>Gamers will engage in epic battles against powerful foes and mighty boss characters in the human world, the heaven-like Paradiso, and the hellish Inferno. Combat places an emphasis on combo attacks and well-timed dodges to activate Witch Time, allowing players to slow down and easily dispatch their foes. Players can also unleash Torture Attacks that trap enemies in torture machines and earn extra points, while the new Umbran Climax can be unleashed when gamers have a full magic gauge, and it offers stronger attacks, more hair-based Wicked Weaves, and lets them summon Infernal Demons for a short time.<br><br>The main story mode is broken into chapters and stages, and at the end of each stage gamers earn a score based on their completion time, number of combos, and damage taken. During the action players collect halos to purchase new weapons, accessories, and costumes, including some costumes based on popular Nintendo franchises. For those intimidated by potentially complex combat mechanics, Bayonetta 2 offers simplified controls in the Automatic mode, or gamers can opt for touch controls using the GamePad. And multiplayer fans can join a friend for the new online-only co-op Tag Climax mode, earning more halos as they take control of Bayonetta, Jeanne, or Rodin and complete specific challenges.Product Identifiers

The Best Beat-em-up on Wii U

Great additions to Bayonetta 1. The sequel is good.
Game is crazy. And you probably know if you'll like it before you even play it. If games like God of War, Legend of Zelda, Darksiders 1/2. Everything is over the top. The game is very Japanese. But everything works very well. And it's very well made. Worth playing in my opinion even if you end up not liking or not finishing. The hype IS definitely real!
I just barely got back into gaming last year. I tend to be a very picky gamer, liking only what I like and nothing else. I saw Bayonetta, in passing before, but never really understood what it was about and forgot it about it altogether. Back then i missed a good chunk of excellent games, that I missed out on, due to not having the latest gaming consoles or better quality television. I until recently this had a old tube tv only capable of playing Xbox or ps2. Fast forward to today I pondered,"why did I give up on gaming?" I figured I was getting too old for video games! I need to be a responsible adult now! But...that all change while I was in youtube, looking at random videos like always, when I stumbled upon people's reaction to bayonetta being on smash bros. I was mainly curious to see how they would reaction to her revealing. For some reason I can't explain, I got hooked! I wanted to see more of this bayonetta, I wanted to know more of what the game was about. So I started to watch gameplay and commentary of both bayonetta and bayonetta 2. I was loving what I was seeing action, quick witted remarks by the main heroine, ridiculous over the top cut scenes and the general badassery that is game brought to the table. One problem....I did not have a wii u or a modern television. Once both items came into my possession I ordered bayonetta 2 with bayonetta 1 bouns! All I can say is that this game lives up to the accolades gamers alike shower upon this franchise! All I can say is that bayonetta rekindled a passion to play video games again! Really great even on the Wii U
It's a fast paced game with a little bit of a learning curve to do combo's ect.. But if you love fast action and a zaney story line then this game is for you. Fly Me to the Moon!
This is a great Wii U exclusive game, and a fantastic sequel to one of 2010's best games (which was thankfully included in this edition). Tight controls elevate a sleek, sexy, stylish, and action packed adventure full of tongue (and lollipop) in cheek humor. Bayonetta 2 has been given a solo re-release to coincide with her inclusion into Super Smash Bros Wii U/3DS. However, if you can find it, and you can tolerate the price jacking that accompanies this OoP gem, buy it with all deliberate haste. Ridiculous Game
