OK book for beginning a first layout.
Wiring Your Model Railroad book would probably be ok for a person beginning a first layout and working on their wiring plans for it. The book jumps around between both DC and DCC wiring leaving one wondering which components (decoders, types of turn-outs, wires) to use where. However, there are some very good pointers in a few of the chapters. Books (1&2) by Paul Mallery, although dated, are more detailed for layout wiring and signal workings. If you are ready to learn it all, this book will teach everything you need to learn about wiring a train layout in either traditional DC or digital mode.
