Customer review of the movie " Downfall"
I was more than happy when I recieved my copy of this movie. I poped it in my dvd player and watched the whole thing with barely blinking... Due to constantly reading the subtitles. I really wish it came in an English version, or better yet if i understood German. Lol. Overall great movie wish the Germans won in the end , but we cant change that. Mind Blowing!
This movie is awesome, it depicts the dark, and gloomy last days of Hitler and Nazi Germany in a way that gives the movie a dark undertone. The actors portrayals of their real life counterparts are almost spot on, which really gives the movie its spot on, accurate portrayal of those events. Terrific Historical Drama
This is an excellent movie on the last 10 days of Hitler's reign. Bruno Ganz portrayal of Hitler is the best I have ever seen. He presents Hitler as both the fuhrer, and as a person. The other actors were also excellent as well and it presented the surreal atmosphere said to exist in the bunker and with the people that surrounded him. How this did not win an Oscar(s) is perplexing. Very intense scenes both inside and out of the bunker gives the viewer a raw look at an event in time. Even though I knew how it ends ...well worth the time really brilliant performances
Bruno Ganz did a great job portraying Adolf Hitler. The film is subtitled because its in German but that adds much to the authentic back drop. Adding the clips of his secretary Traudl Junge also gives a close perspective on Hitler. Well done.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Interesting if not controversial

Great realistic film allowing us to see a moment of time, from the "other" side, that most of us have never cared to think about.
One of the greatest World War 2 films ever made. Just be aware that it is in German, but it does have English subtitles. Some copies allow you to choose English voice overs in the menu section, however I think everyone should see it first with the subtitles so that you can hear all the original voices and emotions.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

The Downfall of the Third Reich
Am very interested in WW2 history and happenings, and this movie was great. Had to deal with sub-titles and German was spoken in the movie. It deals with the closing days of WW2 and the final downfall of Hitler's final days and the Third Reich. Will likely watch it again in a few days. The actor playing Hitler looked VERY realistic. Downfall is an excellent movie.
This movie is unique: it should have received many Oscar's but instead received none. The reason, it was about the fall of the Third Reich and the suicide of Hitler and others. No movie, no matter how well made will ever receive an award when the main character is Hitler. Review of Downfall
I had heard that historians had said this was the most accurate film about the last days in Hitlers Bunker. I didn’t know if I would like it as I had to read captions in English as this is a German film, but I soon forgot about that and became engrossed in the film.
