Rather self serving
Good story, but contrary to the investigation. Couldn't find anyone to speak out against a sitting president, who wouldn't be shocked. People pulled strings to keep friends out of war, another shocker to Rather and crew. Acting was good but the story was not compelling and to portray Rather as a soft tender guy seemed off the mark.

Entertaining, yes.
The movie tells the producer's side of the story that resulted in her being fired and four other being asked to quit. The story around the controversy that made Dan Rather leave CBS. Naturally, they omit some of the evidence that show the papers in question were faked.

This movie really tried to protect the main charaters from the actual lying that they did. Looked to place more blame on the document experts.
Too many F-words. Only watched the first 1/3 to maybe 1/2.

What an amazing movie! All about the events that led to Dan Rather's resignation
This movie was phenomenal... it told the story of the events that led to Dan Rather's resignation from CBS News, the difficulty he had in putting a story together where he told the truth but there were some details where he was misled and the Bush administration did everything they could to spin it and make it look like a colossal error and tried to make the entire story seem false when in fact it was not, how Dan Rathers' career and the careers of the other people who worked on the story were all destroyed even though they were all telling the truth and their story had merit. It says a lot about how corporate controlled new programs are now intimidated by the government and how thier practices are in many ways dictated by coporate interests rather than by what is true and what needs to be reported. This movie is a must-see and the best thing about it is the cast.... they were all so phenomenal. Cate Blanchett, Robert Redford, Topher Grace, Elizabeth Moss, and Dennis Quaid. They were all amazing, particularly Topher Grace. This was an excellent film.
