After receiving a distress call from another submarine off the Syrian coast, the crew of the USS Nebraska search a series of massive caverns, where they discover a 70-year-old shipwrecked Soviet sub, whose crew died under mysterious circumstances. While investigating this enigma, the Nebraska's away team discover a massive underground sanctum dedicated to Mot, the ancient Ugarit god of death. As strange events occur on board, the away team soon discover that the sanctum was not built to worship Mot, but to incarcerate him. Now, they must try to escape.

Inside pages are in excellent condition but there are significant dents and scratches on the cover of the black volume. I do not think these scratches happened in transit as they were very well packaged. This was a set of two books, the condition was described as follows: “Book 1 is in very good condition, with minor wear to edges of cover. Book 2 is new and sealed.” Unfortunately this type of cover does pick up scratches and smudges very easily, as can be seen in the listing photos.
