Hear In The Now Frontier is Queensryche's response to the 1990's "grunge" era of music.
It was a very interesting album with some great songs presented.
I prefer their earlier classic progressive metal sound on albums like Rage For Order, Empire, and Operation Mindcrime.
The greatest thing about Hear In The Now Frontier is that it's the original line up of band members.
This is a good album...for Queensryche. Not their best...Chris Degarmo was on his way out as this was finishing up, but melodically it is sound. It sounds like they were trying to revisit their pop sound of Empire and grasp still yet a larger audience. But keep in mind they also had a video game come out around this time as well. So the market was saturated and it was going to Tate's head.
Still I enjoy this when I don't want to think about too much. Always a good fun listen.
