Product Information

Stefan (Tom Cruise) is determined to leave the sleepy Pennsylvania mining town of Ampipe where he is growing up. An exceptional athlete, Stef sees football as his ticket out. His pursuit of a scholarship, however, brings him at odds with his combative coach (Craig T. Nelson). While rebelling against his coach and his town, Stef takes up with Lisa Litski (Lea Thompson), an attractive schoolmate and talented saxophone player. Cruise graduated to leading man status with this film, one of many early 1980s pictures with strong teen identities. His sexy, defiant presence carries the film. First-time director Michael Chapman (cinematographer of TAXI DRIVER and many other films) proves himself especially adept in capturing the intense football sequences.

    Transaction with seller was great. Shipped out exactly, arrived today, well packaged, same as photos. USPS managed to loose the pkg for a couple of days and it may have floated around a bit in the various Atlanta distribution centers before finally showing up. Not the sellers fault at all but annoying for me. Luckily the wait wasn’t too long.

    Really nostalgic movie

    This movie really struck a chord. Young people striving to go to college to escape a town where the only job opportunity is in a mill where their families struggle to make a living. There are nice plot twists and a happy ending. Well acted by Tom Cruise, Craig T Nelson and Lea Thompson.

    Great movie in the 80’s, still is today

    If you haven’t seen it, and you’re a football fan, it’s a “must see”. Especially if you play / have played football in Junior High and High school.
