Good, but not really great portable radio
The Azatom Multiplex II I received is a bit of a mixed bag. On the plus side, DAB reception is excellent, and Bluetooth has worked almost perfectly so far with just the odd little blip now and then, easily resolved. Unfortunately FM reception on mine is not very good at all, and is prone to interference from almost any nearby source. Battery life is pretty good, and seems to have improved with a few charge / discharge cycles. However, the charge indicator is not reliable, with it showing 2/3 bars and then suddenly dropping to zero. Sound quality is good - it's a little bass heavy by default so if you listen to classical or don't want to annoy the neighbours you may need to tinker with bass and treble settings, but that's easy enough. The display works well indoors where it has four ... The Azatom Multiplex II I received is a bit of a mixed bag. Unfortunately, on a bright day outside, the display is useless, which is a shortcoming on a portable radio. Because you have to turn the volume wheel once before the volume menu comes up, it can be hard to make fine adjustments when you can't see the display, and also, as with many other cheap digital radios, there is not enough fine volume adjustment stepping at low volumes. The build quality is ok - my aerial is quite wobbly, but the overall finish is ok for the price. Overall I think the Azatom is just about worth the £60 I paid for it, but no more.

This is a great all round DAB and FM radio. The sound quality is very good for the size of the unit, and it also has two speakers - ideal for listening to music when many DAB radios of this size still only have one speaker. Reception is good on DAB and FM, with this radio happily picking up out of area stations with no problem. Battery life is good as well, and you can purchase replacement batteries (and other parts) from the manufacturer if required. This radio also had Bluetooth, for using as a portable speaker, which also works well, and there is also a line input for wired devices such as MP3 players and iPods. The only slight downsides are no external aerial socket, and DAB bit rates are still too low in the UK to produce any sort of decent sound quality. At least the radio supports ... Azatom Multiplex D1 DAB+FM Radio
Bought as a returning customer to this brand having priviously had an excellent wifi speaker. White Finnish matches high gloss kitchens well too. For a pretty compact unit this little beauty punches well above it's weight. It easily fills my kitchen/diner extension with clear and neutral sound. Although bought for the kitchen I was delighted to find that the built in battery will provide outside use for the summer months too. As a former HiFi manager, I was sceptical of the claim that the unit was almost HiFi quality. Having judged the output for myself, the listener will soon learn why the claim is made. When sat on a kitchen worktop it's range is rather surprising. Plenty of personal preference is available via both the bass and treble options, rather than a simple tone control one might ... Excellent reception, great design, portable, fab sound, easy to use
I bought this as we live in a valley and DAB reception is generally awful. This was recommended online as a great radio even in poor DAB areas and it is! Reception is perfect, sound is wonderful - good bass, not tinny sound and loud enough to hear from the living room even when it's on in the kitchen. I much prefer the radio to TV and often have it on a day so being able to just unplug and take it outside or to another room without faff is brilliant! Took a bit to get the hang of presets but then I was trying to do it without reading the instructions :) otherwise very simple to find and select stations and programme the alarms. Looks nice, love the wooden veneer, clean white front and white leather handle. Highly recommended love it!I bought this as we live in a valley and DAB reception is generally awful. Not bad but.....
Radio is a good and simple it sounds ok cor the money, only thing is pre setting radio stations is a nightmare as how they explain in manual doesnt make any sense.
