pretty awesome
unlike many synthetic hair dyes, I've found that the henna is very forgiving if you get it on your skin it just washes off, no staining of skin. Other than that, it does take a lot longer to "take" and sometimes an area won't be colored as well as the rest. but it's easy to "touch up" if needed! don't use metal, make sure your hair is totally free of product as mentioned. Don't use it on hair that's already dyed, or try to dye "henna-d" hair! so there's that. overall, I love this product and have been sticking with it for some timeunlike many synthetic hair dyes, I've found that the henna is very forgiving if you get it on your skin it just washes off, no staining of skin. AMAZING
This was my first time applying this henna brand and it went better than I was expecting. I followed almost all the instructions (I added a bit lemon juice to the mix ). I ended up mixing half the henna that was on the box, more henna than necessary because I had never used powder henna, I used to use the caca rouge from Lush, but Light Mountain is way better. My hair falls down past the shoulders up to the middle of my back and half of the powder was too much henna. A box is enough for at least three uses for my hair. The product was easy to apply and not as messy as Lush's caca rouge. I left it in my hair for +/-5 hours and just rinsed it with water. My scalp is a bit orange, but eventually, it will disappear when I get to wash my hair with shampoo on the third day. Right now my hair is ... Been using this exact product for close to 10 years now. My only grouse is that the instructions are a little off. Definitely do a patch test if you recently had a perm or chemical dyes, but use a 1:1 lemon juice and water mix (mild acid breaks down plant fibers better, releasing more stain), let it rest for 8 hours before applying to give it time to break down the fiber, and leave it on your head for at least 2 hours before rinsing. It will come out pumpkin orange but will oxidize to reddish brown over the course of a day or two. This is not a quick process, but it's super healthy for your hair, looks natural, and the color never fades (since it's not a dye but a strong, permanently bonded, translucent stain).
