The rod is plain polished metal, doesn't really match the dark finials and looks alien-ish, unless you cut it as short as possible. The wall brackets are sturdy, but bulky and ugly. You can try covering them with tassels, but it would've been much better for them to just be more subtle. The threading in one of the finials was unusable and I had to improvise to fix it to the rod.
